Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia
POLITICAL ACTIVITIES in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, the party’s stronghold, would be intensified, starting today, Monday, June 10, 2024.
The party’s Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, is expected to stay in the region for three days for an intensive campaign.
As part of his campaign tour, the NPP presidential candidate would take to the streets to engage the public with the sole purpose of sharing his vision for the country with the ordinary Ghanaian.
Also, Dr. Bawumia, who is noted for being a hard working politician, would be meeting the various organizations and business groups in the region to share his policies.
Reports from the NPP indicated that the party’s strategy is to make Dr. Bawumia easily accessible to the people so he would know, at first hand, their needs and concerns.
Per Dr. Bawumia’s campaign itinerary, which the paper has sighted, the NPP presidential candidate would meet with the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs on Monday.
On the same day, he would hold separate meetings with virtually all the groups in the NPP in the region, including regional council patrons, regional executives and others.
Still on Monday, Dr. Bawumia, who is the Vice President, would also hold separate meetings with the clergy, Muslim leaders, professional groups and the Kumasi Central Market.
On day two, the NPP presidential candidate would storm the Suame Magazine to interact with artisans and engage the youth in the region at the Youth Connect event, among other events.
Dr. Bawumia would climax his campaign tour on Wednesday by inspecting road projects in the Kwabre East District and also meet with the business community.
Still on the last day, he would meet with groups of traders, beauticians and other professional groups and market leaders and have a special dinner with archbishops and senior reverend ministers in the region to conclude his tour.
