Beatrice Eli Celebrates World Menstrual Hygiene Day With Kayaye

A scene during the presentation

Ghanaian model, Beatrice Eli Tornyeli, on Friday spent this year’s World Menstrual Hygiene Day with kayayes (porters) at the Madina market in Accra.

She donated sanitary pads and other hygienic products to the ladies as her way of support to them.

She also educated them on menstrual hygiene and demystified some myths surrounding menstruation as well as cautioning them on unwanted teenage pregnancies.

In an interview after the event, Beatrice indicated she finds satisfaction and fulfilment in supporting the underprivileged, adding she was glad to impact the lives of the porters on a day like World Menstrual Hygiene Day.

“I’m very happy to be here today to celebrate this day with these lovely ones. I must say that I’m very impressed with how the whole thing went, I’m very glad that we’ve impacted lives and this fills me with so much joy,” she added.

She also extended her appreciation to everyone who has supported or played a role in making the event possible.

Born Beatrice Nutoegba Tornyeli, Eli is one of Ghana’s young enterprising models in the modelling industry.

She started getting noticed from October 2019 when her works became obvious to stakeholders. She has since kept moving forward.

She was first made the face of the Accra Fashion Week and then went on to win the best new female model award. The rest has been history, gracing major runways. Now she feels the need to give back to society.
