Ghana’s Black Star Experience Secretariat (BSE), under the Office of the President, has signed a landmark partnership with the National Arts Council of South Africa (NACSA) to boost cultural exchange and creative industry collaboration between the two nations.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was sealed at NACSA headquarters in Johannesburg, with BSE Chief Executive Rex Owusu Marfo and NACSA Acting CEO Julie Diphofa signing on behalf of their institutions.

The agreement will drive joint initiatives in cultural exchange, heritage preservation, arts education, institutional development, and research, opening doors for creatives in both countries. South African artists will also gain access to Ghana’s major cultural platforms, including Creatives Connect Afrika, Afro Future, Tidal Rave Ghana, Beyond The Return, and the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

“This is more than an agreement – it is a bridge between Ghana and South Africa,” said Mr. Marfo. “Our nations share deep historical bonds, and through arts and culture we will continue to inspire future generations.”

Ms. Diphofa described the deal as a milestone in advancing Africa’s creative ecosystem, praising the opportunity to strengthen cultural diplomacy and expand opportunities for African artists.

The signing was witnessed by senior Ghanaian officials, including representatives from the Ghana Tourism Authority, Diaspora Affairs, and the Beyond the Return Secretariat.

The partnership reaffirms BSE’s mission to position Ghana as a premier hub for cultural exchange while celebrating Africa’s heritage and amplifying its global creative influence.
