B/A PPP Executives Fight At Regional Office
There was commotion at a meeting of regional executives of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) last week in the Brong Ahafo Region, DAILY GUIDE has gathered.
Consequently, three executive members, who exchanged blows at the meeting, have been suspended for misconduct.
They are the Regional Vice Chairman, Prince Adumatta, Regional Treasurer, Clement Kadaga and Regional Education Officer, Sumaila Ibrahim.
DAILY GUIDE’s sources said the regional executives held an emergency meeting at the party’s regional office in Sunyani to discuss how some motorbikes and T-shirts presented by the national headquarters were distributed among the constituencies in the region.
But before the start of the meeting, Mr. Adumatta expressed unhappiness with Clement Kadaga and Sumaila Ibrahim for posting information about him on Whatsapp.
He claimed the two described him as bastard and accused him of organizing meetings without the knowledge of some of the executives on the social media.
According to reports, this did not go down well with Sumaila but he was urged to remain calm for the meeting to go ahead.
The meeting went on successfully and they discussed the substantive matter.
Mr Adumatta later launched a verbal attack on Sumaila, which resulted in a fight.
They exchanged blows and threw plastic chairs at each other at the meeting which ended abruptly on 29th July, 2016 as a result of the development.
On 1st August, 2016, there was another meeting of constituency chairmen without the regional chairman where a decision was taken to suspend the three persons.
The regional vice chairman accepted the decision via phone and the decision was communicated to national executives.
It would be recalled that earlier this year, the regional executives, including the chairman, were suspended by the constituency chairmen from the region for non-performance.
But they were later reinstated after they apologized and promised to work hard henceforth.
