Bobrisky
The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the arrest of Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, at the Seme border.
This follows reports that Bobrisky, a controversial figure and social media personality, was intercepted while attempting to flee Nigeria for Benin Republic
Social media activist, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, initially broke the news, alleging that Bobrisky was arrested on Sunday night.
The NIS later confirmed the arrest in an official statement on its X page, stating: “In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, otherwise known as Bobrisky, at the Seme Border over an attempt to exit the country.”
The Immigration Service further noted that Bobrisky is a “person of interest” concerning recent public concerns. The statement added that he is currently undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
The NIS reassured the public that it will continue to carry out its duties professionally, stating, “The Service assures the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of manning the country’s borders.”
