This year’s BOMA of Africa marks a significant joint initiative by African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AUDA-NEPAD) and AfroChampions, set to capture the progress of Agenda 2063.

The event, scheduled for July 20th, 2024, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, will take place at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, Ghana, and live on Zoom. It coincides with the African Union’s Mid-Year Coordination Meeting to be held in Accra, providing a backdrop for this crucial exercise in accountability and showcasing.

Under the theme “From the Africa We Want to the Africa We Build,” BOMA of Africa 2024 will celebrate the radical ideas and actions driving Africa forward. This festival of innovation and unity will feature debates, discussions, and announcements of groundbreaking initiatives that exemplify the milestones of African integration and development.

The BOMA of Africa has become a premier platform for showcasing the continent’s most inspirational achievements in unity and integration. Convened at the highest level, the event aims to move beyond discussions to concrete actions, inspiring Africans across various fields such as science, technology, education, creative arts, and entrepreneurship.

Since 2019, AUDA-NEPAD and AfroChampions, alongside other strategic partners, have hosted this annual event during African Integration Week. This year’s BOMA will align with the Mid-Year Coordination Meeting, further cementing its significance on the continent’s commemorative calendar.

In a world marked by geopolitical shifts, technological advancements, conflicts, and economic turbulence, Africa’s strategic blueprint, Agenda 2063, has become urgent and necessary. The BOMA of Africa serves as a high point for showcasing and celebrating strategic developments on this roadmap, providing a platform to mobilize support for peace, security, and development.

AUDA-NEPAD’s pivotal role in implementing Agenda 2063 is underscored by its co-hosting of the 2024 BOMA with AfroChampions. This collaboration demonstrates a deep commitment to mobilizing the continent for significant action and sustained progress.

The 2024 BOMA of Africa aims to showcase major projects and initiatives shaping Africa’s emergence as a global force, such as AUDA-NEPAD’s Energize Africa, the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA), and the Agenda 2063 Dashboard.

It will also host the 2nd Sankoree lecture by an eminent international change-maker, addressing Africa’s positioning in the global system while introducing the maiden 2024 Sankoree Awards, celebrating leaders who have advanced Africa’s integration.
