Ing Nana Poku Agyeman soaring cash on the young dancer
A YOUNG boy, believed to be about six years old, was the toast of a mammoth crowd at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi last Sunday.
The boy, whose name is unknown to DAILY GUIDE, displayed brilliant Ashanti traditional dance, attracting applause from the overjoyed crowd.
The occasion was the last ‘Akwasidae’ Festival of Asanteman marked on every Sunday after 40 days on the Ashanti calendar.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Awomefia of Anlo State in the Volta Region, and other dignitaries, including government officials, were also present.
Otumfuo, who was sitting in state, had just finished reading his statement when the young boy jumped into the dancing floor to exhibit his dancing skills.
He reduced his cloth to his waist level before he started to dance to ‘Adowa’ and ‘Kete’ tunes.
The young dancer used his hands to make some gestures in the sky whilst he danced majestically. In unison, the crowd applauded the boy for a brilliant display.
At a point, Ing Nana Poku Agyeman, who was also thrilled, jumped to the dancing floor and sprayed cash on the dancer, who was having a good time.
