Sheikh Aliu Ahmed Maikano Abulfail
The elder brother of the recently murdered Islamic cleric, which incident took place in the outskirts of Prang in the Bono East Region, has called for a probe.
Speaking to the DAILY GUIDE during the weekend, Sheikh Naasirullah Maikano recalled how before the murder of his brother Aliu Ahmed Kalamu, his elder brother survived an attack from yet-to-be identified gunmen.
“We are not scared about death but we would very much want this incident to be looked into, especially against the backdrop of a previous attempt on the life of one of our brothers,” he said.
The brother, who escaped death at the hands of the gunmen, was in the hall when he heard gunshots. “He managed to call one of his family members who alerted a police patrol team which proceeded to the location. On the next day following that incident, empty shells of bullets were found at the scene,” he said.
It is intriguing that “my brother who was returning from Abromase to Prang when the shooting incident occurred did not lose anything. The money on him including CFA Francs was intact.”
Sheikh Aliu Maikano Kalamu was shot dead on the Abromase road near Prang in the Bono East Region and many suspect contract killing.
Sheikh Aliu Ahmed Maikano Abulfail was the son of the renowned Tijanniyya Cleric Sheikh Ahmed Maikano Jallow of Prang.
The deceased, a resident of Pantang in Accra, was in Prang on a short visit when he met his untimely death as he was returning from a nearby village.
Some telltale audio recordings are making the rounds, which could be of value to investigators.
