Majeed Duut
The President’s nominee for District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri, Alhaji Majeed Duut, has been confirmed by the assembly members.
Out of 30 assembly members present during voting, 29 endorsed him.
The election was conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC).
Oscar Liwaal, who was the DCE for Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo, has been posted to the newly-created Yunyoo-Nasuan District as DCE.
DAILY GUIDE understands that Oscar Liwaal would remain as DCE at Yunyoo-Nasuan without any confirmation by Assembly members.
The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, who was at the event, expressed his gratitude to assembly members, chiefs and opinion leaders for the overwhelming endorsement.
He, however, tasked the new DCE to work hard to make sure the district gets its share of the national cake.
Mr Salifu Saeed advised Alhaji Majeed Duut to work closely with chiefs and the police in the area to maintain law and order to woo investors to create jobs.
Alhaji Majeed Duut assured chiefs, opinion leaders and stakeholders that he would serve the district with integrity and shun factionalism to bring development to the district.
He expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo, Salifu Saeed, Deputy Northern Regional Minister, Solomon Boar and assembly members.
Prior to his appointment, he was a District Accountant with Ghana Education Service (GES) and Presiding Member of Bunkpurugu.
