The mangled vehicle
A hit-and-run female driver has been involved in a ghastly accident at Aputuogya in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, leaving two people in critical condition.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman, driving a white Toyota saloon car, reportedly knocked down an auto rickshaw (pragya) driver, leaving him in a pool of blood. Instead of stopping to assist the victim, she allegedly sped off in an attempt to flee the scene.
“She had earlier hit the auto rickshaw and was trying to escape,” an eyewitness recounted.
However, her escape came to a tragic end when she crashed head-on into a Kia Pregio commercial vehicle with registration number AS 4246-22, sustaining severe injuries herself.
“Upon reaching Aputuogya, she collided with the Kia vehicle and got seriously injured,” another witness confirmed.
The horrific incident occurred on Monday, November 10, 2025. Both the injured female driver and the rickshaw operator were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for emergency treatment.
Police at Aputuogya have since launched investigations into the accident.
