Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) Celebrates 40 Years of Impact — Marks Milestone with Plays, Music, and Sermons

Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), a charismatic English-speaking assembly, on Sunday climaxed its 40th-anniversary celebrations with an inspiring blend of music, arts, and sermons.

Established on Easter Sunday, April 7, 1985, with about 100 people, the church has since grown into a congregation of thousands.

In a humorous play depicting the church’s origin, children from the CCC Children’s Ministry dramatised the story of CCC’s formation. The General Overseer was portrayed with an afro hairstyle, a three-piece suit, and a memorable scene of him traveling the country on his famous “Tomos” motorbike for evangelism.

In melodious performances, the Heralds, CCC Mass Choir, and Charisma — all music groups within the church — highlighted CCC’s journey from humble beginnings in Kumasi to a global reach, now boasting 600 branches worldwide.

Reverend Ransford Obeng, General Overseer of CCC, expressed gratitude to the chiefs and people of Asokore Mampong and Oforikrom, acknowledging their support in providing the church with a solid foundation.

He also welcomed the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, and the Member of Parliament for Oforikrom, Hon. Michael Kwasi Aidoo, thanking them for their leadership and fellowship.

In a moment of solemn reflection, Rev. Obeng asked for a minute of silence in honor of departed souls, including his late wife, Mrs. Joyce Obeng, who had stood by him in building the ministry.

“CCC has existed for 40 years because the people in this city and this church chose to support the vision God gave me after attending a conference in Singapore, where I met my mentor, the late Reverend Rick Seaward,” Rev. Obeng stated emotionally.

Preaching at both services, Reverend Jeremy Seaward, Head Pastor of Victory Family Center–Singapore, encouraged the church to emulate the Corinthian Church, which he said truly mirrored Christ in word and character.

Rev. Seaward emphasised that the Corinthian believers were the first to be called Christians because they had a clear vision, cultivated strong faith, and actively participated in the Great Commission.

Celebration

To commemorate the milestone, a specially designed 40th-anniversary cake was cut by Rev. Obeng, with support from church leaders, the Regional Minister, and the Oforikrom MP.

Later, Reverend Joshua Obeng, Resident Pastor of CCC Main, led the visiting dignitaries on a tour of the church facilities. They visited the Children’s Block, Joy Chapel (which hosts Northern Region congregants), and the Youth Center, which serves high school and university students.

Dressed in their special 40th-anniversary cloth, congregants joyfully danced during and after service as the renowned gospel group, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, performed electrifying gospel music.
