Cheef Chebe Unveils ‘Mutani’

Glasgow-based Ghanaian artiste, Cheef Chebe, is set to release his highly-anticipated Afrobeat EP ‘Mutani’ on April 4, 2025. This soul-stirring project is a testament to Chebe’s life story, which defies convention and is steeped in soul.

Born out of a chance encounter between Chebe and producer BB Blues, formerly of Fela Kuti’s band, ‘Mutani’ is a cosmic accident turned musical manifesto. The EP is a call to “Make Africa Sweet Again” (MASA) and a celebration of Africa’s resilience and richness.

Recorded in a burst of creative energy, ‘Mutani’ blends traditional Afrobeat rhythms with modern sensibilities. The EP features the hypnotic pulse of the Djembe drum and the ethereal melodies of the Jangda, an instrument dear to Chebe’s ancestral heritage.

Chebe’s journey to ‘Mutani’ has been long and winding. A multi-dimensional artist, he has blossomed into a musician, author, storyteller, and laughter coach, among other pursuits. His folkloric approach to music has captivated audiences across Glasgow, Scotland, Ghana, and beyond.

With ‘Mutani’, Chebe invites listeners on a transformative journey, connecting them to Africa’s past while urging them toward a brighter future.

“Get ready to experience the vibrant sounds of Afrobeat on April 4, 2025,” he said.
