FLORENCE TEYE Narh Maamle, also known as Chef Maamle, is making waves in the culinary space, as the curator of the ‘MK Pop-Up Buffet Experience’ has created a concept that blends food, culture, tourism, and storytelling to the admiration of many.

The founder of MK Catering Services said her ingenuity in the sector is a testament to her culinary mastery, knowledge, passion, dedication, leadership, consistency, precision, creativity, adaptability and the willingness to learn new things.

With a background in Accounting from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Chef Maamle says growing up, cooking was never part of her script as she had no formal culinary training; her cooking skills were developed through experiences, observation, and years of practice.

“Cooking was always a passion, so exploring it didn’t feel like work. Then during my National Service days, I started bringing cooked meals for my colleagues and later prepared freezer-friendly weekend meals, which led to referrals.

“After National Service, I focused fully on this venture, pitching corporate lunches to managers to save staff time and make mealtime more convenient,” she said.

Since starting this venture, she and her team have served over ten companies, from Rig World Solutions, the Association of Oil Marketing Companies, and Quantum LC, et al. They also provide bulk lunches for large-scale events, consistently delivering quality, convenience, and memorable culinary experiences.

She said, “MK Pop-Up Buffet Experience is carefully put together to showcase not only Ghanaian flavours but also the cultural heritage, giving guests an unforgettable experience. The response so far has been incredible, and it motivates me and the team to continue innovating and elevating offerings.”

Chef Maamle mentioned that mentorship and advice from experienced professionals have guided her through challenges and helped her make strategic decisions; albeit, her business and accounting knowledge has been crucial for planning, budgeting, and scaling her services effectively; plus, networks, referrals, and client relationships have been key resources, opening doors to new opportunities and collaborations.
