NANA YIM Awere Ababio, Chief of Toase, with the support of Goody Pearls Foundation, a charitable organization, has organized a Christmas party for some needy persons in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
Over 200 needy persons were given food, drinks and gifts including bags of rice, oil, sardines and other food items while the children amongst them also received clothing, exercise books, shoes and sandals.
The beneficiary persons lived in the Toase, Mpasatia, Nkorang and Nkwakrom communities.
Nana Yim Awere Ababio appealed to the people to bury their political differences and pray for the peace and unity of the country.
He said his kind gesture was aimed at easing the burden of the needy in his jurisdiction as Christmas approached, in fulfillment of a promise he made to assist the needy when he was sworn in as the chief three years ago.
It was also intended to appreciate the trust reposed in him by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, by making him the Chief of Toase.
The traditional leader appealed to Ghanaians to show love to the needy as Christmas approached to make them feel loved.
On her part, Nana Ama Nhyiraba Agyemang, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Goodly Pearls Foundation, said the assistance was extended to individuals and communities regardless of their religious and political background to put smiles on their faces.
She said the organization, since its inception three years ago, had assisted a lot of people particularly, orphans, widows and the aged.
“The message of Christmas is about the love of God and we are demonstrating that love to them through our gifts. We want every deprived child and needy family to enjoy something good for this Christmas,” she added.
Madam Akosua Mansah, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked Nana Yim Awere Ababio and Goodly Pearls Foundation for their kindness.
