Nana Saasi Ayeboafo and the queen mother being paid homage to
CHIEF OF Mamponteng, Nana Saasi Ayeboafo II, has lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his role in promoting social equality and creating economic opportunities for all Ghanaians through the effective implementation of social intervention initiatives by his government.
The traditional ruler believes that President Akufo-Addo is using his mandate to build a fairer society by spreading prosperity much more widely through the implementation of the Free Senior High School programme, reduction of electricity tariffs and other entrepreneurial policies.
Speaking at the celebration of his first Akwasidae festival since ascending the stool at Mamponteng over the weekend, Nana Saasi Ayeboafo II also commended the government for raising the Kwabre East District to a municipal status.
He appealed to the president to see to the completion of the district’s modern market started by the previous administration, to enhance revenue mobilisation in the municipality.
According to the chief, the market (40 percent completed), when fully completed, would create more economic opportunities and accelerate the developmental agenda of the area.
He also wants the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to improve the road networks in the municipality, take action against injustices, find solutions to other problems of the nation and continue to pursue the transformation agenda for the betterment of the citizenry.
He called on the chiefs in the area to remain united and forge ahead for development, urging them to support government policies and programmes.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu, praised Nananom for their quest to partner government for development.
He said the government is committed to collaborate with all stakeholders, especially chiefs, to bring about development and improve the living standards of the people.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwabre East Constituency, Francisca Serwaah Oteng, also thanked the traditional rulers for their cooperation and assured them of the government’s commitment to develop the municipality.
According to her, the raising of the district is a testament of the government’s preparedness to transform the area, create employment for the youth and make life better for all and sundry.
