Nana Yaw Fianko III, newly enstooled Chief of Chinto in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region, has stated that the town is ready to collaborate with investors whose projects would positively impact his subjects.
He said Chinto community is endowed with fertile lands and other natural resources which could be developed by investors for the economic empowerment of the people.
“Chinto is a major food basket in both our municipality and beyond where cereals, root crops, tubers, vegetables and fruits, among others, can be cultivated and value added to feed industry.
“We are doing this to declare our support for the President’s ‘Planting for Food and Jobs’ and also opening ourselves up for the One District One Factory Programme (1D1F) policies,” he stated.
He appealed to the Municipal Assembly to relocate the Nsawam-Adoagyiri street market to Chinto, which has space to accommodate large numbers, adding that this can ease congestion along the Nsawam Road while opening up his community for investments.
Nana Yaw Fianko also called for a police post and health facility to serve the numerous communities which surround the township.
Touching on education, he assured that he would collaborate with teachers posted to the town in a bid to motivate them to work hard at their respective schedules.
Nana Kumi Asante, Head of the Bretuo family and Adonten Ankobea, who congratulated the new chief, urged him to collaborate with his elders for development.
Nana Osipi Mankata II, Osipi of Chinto, was happy that they have smoked the peace pipe with the various divisions within the town which has led to a peaceful swearing-in.
