Chizzy Wailer
Reggae and dancehall artiste, Chizzy Wailer, has appealed to Ghanaians to maintain peace and uphold democratic values during the upcoming general election.
He said Ghanaians should run campaigns free of disinformation, misinformation, and character assassination instead of engaging in acts that could destabilise the nation.
He reminded Ghanaians that in order to preserve the nation, “we must strive for peaceful elections.”
Ahead of the elections on December 7, he announced plans to hold a peace concert in Accra dubbed “All Stars Jam” to promote peace.
The peace concert aims to inform Ghanaians about the importance of refraining from actions that could jeopardise the upcoming general election.
According to Chizzy Wailer, the peace concert will provide the stage to share the message of peace before, during, and after the election.
More than 40 performing artistes have been invited to perform at the free concert at the forecourt of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) on November 29, 2024 at 4 pm.
It is anticipated that a wide range of personalities, including celebrities, lawmakers from all political parties, and people from all walks of life, will attend the peace concert.
Some of the artistes billed for the event include Pat Thomas, Samuel Owusu, Okyeame Kwame, Osagyefo, Abena Ruthy, King Ayisoba, Gifty Osei, Bessa Simons, Ras Caleb Appiah Levi, and Kofi Agyeman, among others.
