American rapper and singer Chris Brown was arrested in the early hours of Thursday, May 15, at a luxury hotel in Manchester in connection with a violent nightclub incident that occurred in London last year.

The 36-year-old artist was taken into custody by officers from the Metropolitan Police shortly after 2 a.m. at The Lowry Hotel. The arrest is linked to an alleged bottle attack that took place on February 19, 2023, at Tape nightclub in Hanover Square, Mayfair.

According to reports, Chris Brown is accused of assaulting music producer Abe Diaw during an unprovoked attack at around 3 a.m. inside the exclusive venue.

He had flown into UK on a private jet and landed at Manchester Airport on Wednesday afternoon. His presence in the country came to light following inquiries by The Sun, prompting detectives from the Met to travel to Manchester to make the arrest.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest, stating, “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.”

Chris Brown is currently being held at a local police station, where he is expected to be questioned further regarding the incident.
