Church Of Christ Donates GH¢330k To ‘Heal KATH’ Project

The Church of Christ, Ghana, has donated GH¢330,000 towards the Heal Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) project.

The project, spearheaded by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, aims at raising funds for the renovation of the 70-year-old GEE blocks.

Bro. Dr. Daniel Owusu Asare Asiamah, the missionary of the Church, presented a cheque at the Manhyia Palace. He noted that the gesture is in support of the good course set by the Asantehene.

According to him, the donation forms part of the church’s contributions to healthcare needs of Ghanaians.

He noted that KATH, which was constructed in 1954, had been a major referral hospital in the northern sector of the country.

Dr. Asiamah asserted that the time had come for the citizens to show love towards the country’s developmental needs.

Bro. Dr. Asiamah urged all religious bodies to follow the Church of Christ Ghana’s shining example in getting the majority of the country’s health facilities in good condition.

According to him, the churches have responsibility towards the upkeep and wellbeing of people.

He advised members of the Christian fraternity to attend the hospital whenever they felt ill and not to rely on any pastor for treatment.

He stated that God has given medical professionals the knowledge to care for people’s health, and that people should not be deceived by any prophet into not visiting the hospital when they are unwell.
