THE CHARTERED Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) has introduced new award categories as it launched the 30th edition of its annual national marketing performance awards.
The new categories are: Real Estate Company of the Year, Private Health Facility of the Year, Postal and Courier Service Company of the Year.
Speaking at the launch on Wednesday in Accra, Vice President of CIMG and Chairman of the Awards Planning Committee, Daniel Nasser Tee, said
the awards covered six competitive areas which include Hall of Fame, Personalities, Media/MARCOMS organisations, business organisations, product, and not-for-profit organisation.
He disclosed that the noncompetitive is the CIMG president’s special awards which are given to a noticeable female and male achiever in any endeavour of life that contributes to national progress.
This year’s awards ceremony would be held under the theme: “Celebrating 30 Years Of Promoting Marketing Excellence: Synergies For The Future.”
National President of CIMG, Kojo Mattah, said the awards have over the last 29 years inspired many industry leaders to refocus their organisations into more marketing oriented companies.
He said in order for the awards to be relevant and meet professional expectations, the criteria for the selection of winners have been reviewed to accommodate every strategic sector of the economy, new concepts and developments.
According to him, it was due to the above that the three new award categories have been introduced to accommodate those sectors that are strategically relevant for recognition.
