The Link GH has honoured the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Abiola Bawuah, as the Corporate Wednesday CEO of the month of April.
The UBA CEO was honoured at the launch of the maiden edition of the event held at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.
The launch of the event which gave patrons the platform to network amidst buffet also witnessed live musical performances from Sherifa Gunu, Akablay, Yaa Yaa and an upcoming artiste, Stevo.
It was graced by high-profile executives and CEOs from the banking, oil and gas and the creative arts industry.
Being the first CEO to be celebrated at the maiden edition of Corporate Wednesday, Mrs Abiola Bawuah was presented with a citation that spelt out her hard work and great impact on banking, especially in Ghana.
Presenting the UBA boss with her citation, the General Manager for the Link GH and Corporate Wednesday, Gladys Osei Owiredu, explained the focus of Corporate Wednesday event, saying, “It is set to create the most conducive environment for networking, with an array of quality entertainment for CEOs and the very busy corporate executives both in Ghana and beyond to relax their minds, bodies and unwind to revitalise for the rest of the week after such a mid-week break.”
She also added that “Corporate Wednesday will also offer the platform for CEOs to have the opportunity to address between 400 to 500 corporate executives and potential clients, as well as recruit over a 100 artistes every year who will perform at the event to be held on the last Wednesday of every month.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs Abiola Bawuah applauded the Link GH team for what she described as an innovative event, and urged them to grow it beyond the boundaries of Ghana.
The next edition of Corporate Wednesday event will take place on May 31, 2017 at Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.
