Some unidentified gunmen have shot a couple at Kasseh in the Ada East District of the Greater Accra Region, killing the husband in the process.
The deceased identified as Michael Kpalam, popularly known as Ogbetey Michael, and his wife, Gladys Henanawopeh, who are food vendors, were shot at their residence around 1:00 am on Monday.
The wife managed to survive the gunshot she sustained on her rib and arm but her husband was pronounced dead at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital in Accra.
Chief Superintendent George Andrew Kumah, Commander of the Ada Divisional Police Headquarters, confirmed the sad incident to DAILY GUIDEand added that they were investigating the matter.
The assailants reportedly shot the husband twice in the stomach and he was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
He was initially rushed to the Ada East District Hospital but was transferred to Comboni Hospital at Sogakope in the Volta Region and then to Accra, where he finally gave up the ghost.
The Kasseh area is becoming unsafe for residents, as gun-wielding hoodlums have taken over the place of late.
The criminal activities are creating fear and panic among residents who have called on the security agencies to up their game.
