Mohbad
A Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has ordered DNA tests on Liam Aloba, the two-year-old son of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The ruling was delivered on Tuesday by Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga following an application filed by the singer’s father, Joseph Aloba.
Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, was listed as the respondent in the suit. During the hearing, Joseph Aloba’s counsel, Augustine Adegbemi, moved the motion for a DNA test, while Omowunmi’s lawyer, Kabir Akingbolu, raised no opposition.
Magistrate Sonuga directed that two separate DNA tests be conducted — one in Nigeria and another abroad. Both are to be carried out in accredited and recognised hospitals, with representatives from both parties present during the collection of samples.
The case has been adjourned to November 11, 2025 for further proceedings now resonating on the world stage.
