There are still many skepticsĀ out there who are refusing to believe COVID-19 pandemic is real, and it is believed some of these people are the reason the virus keeps spreading.

This is because majority of themĀ donā€™t follow theĀ safety protocols to stem the spread.

Actress Helen Asante, who has joined the advocacy against the spread of COVID-19, has been cautioning her followers not to be oblivious of the fact that the virus indeed exists.

In an Instagram post she shared over the weekend, she disclosed that a dear friend lost the mother to COVID-19.

As a result, sheĀ appealed to all to protect themselves against theĀ deadly virus by wearing their face masks in particular because ā€œitā€™s no joke.ā€

ā€œThere is a pandemic! ā€¦believe it or not,Ā is important for us to keep safe. My friendā€™s mother just died of COVID-19. Itā€™s no joke … please letā€™s all endeavour to wear our nose mask and to observe all protocols. (prayer emoji)Ā Ā #staysafe,ā€ she wrote under her photo wearing face mask.

Helen hasĀ joined a number of the countryā€™s showbiz personalities who have since the pandemic outbreak been campaigning on various platforms forĀ citizens to follow the safety protocols for COVID-19.

Currently Ghana has beenĀ witnessingĀ what seems to be the second wave of COVID-19 surge.Ā President Akufo-Addo in hisĀ lastĀ addressĀ to the nation on COVID-19Ā warnedĀ he would beĀ re-imposing restriction on movement should the surge in active COVID-19 cases persist.
