Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, the presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has selected Nana Gabby Nsiah Nketiah as his running mate for the December 7 polls.
Nana Gabby, a traditional ruler and businessman, was special assistant to former President John Agyekum Kufuor and later served as Ambassador to South Korea at the tail end of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
He contested in the NPP parliamentary primary at Tano North in the Brong-Ahafo Region and was floored by the late Ernest Akubuor Debrah.
Nsiah Nketiah was a band boy in the military before going into business.
He was born on 1st October, 1943 at Fiapre, near Sunyani in the Brong-Ahafo Region of Ghana.
He is said to have a strong Nkrumaist background and as a guitarist, he occasionally performed for Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president.
He is an engineer by profession and has served in both the Ghana and the British Armies.
The party took this decision on the account of Mr Nketiah’s versatility, understanding of party’s philosophies, his great exposure and maturity.
By this nomination, the party hopes Nketiah will effectively compliment the flag bearer, given his deep understanding of the predicaments of the country.
Nana Gabby Nsiah is married to Monica Nee Kusi, and the couple has been blessed with five children.
