Victor Kofi Owusu
GaDangme Traditional Authorities have summoned the family head of late Ghanaian highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, over growing controversy surrounding the musician’s burial plans.
Victor Kofi Owusu, popularly known as Abusuapanyin Tupac and family head of the late star, has been directed to appear before the Nungua Palace on Thursday, March 13, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.
The summons was issued by Nuumo Borkete Laweh Tsuru, the Wor Lumor Konor of Nungua, amid public concern over reports that the highlife icon, born Charles Kojo Fosu, may be buried at his private residence in East Legon, Accra.
According to the notice, the traditional authority wants the family head to clarify the matter and engage in dialogue in line with GaDangme customary protocols.
The palace said the engagement is necessary to address concerns within the community and ensure harmony, respect for tradition, and a peaceful resolution of the issue.
The development adds a new twist to the ongoing brouhaha over the burial of the celebrated musician.
On Monday, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service arrested controversial relationship counsellor, Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, also known as Counsellor Lutterodt over the issue but was granted bail subsequently.
Lutterodt was captured in a viral video allegedly urging some youth to storm the residence of the late highlife musician over allegations that he had been was buried there.
The Police in a statement said the comments were offensive and capable of causing a breach of public peace.
Counsellor Lutterodt has been granted bail but was expected to appear in court on yesterday, to face charges under the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) and the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491).
Now the GaDangme Traditional Authorities have taken the matter to a different dimension.
