The late gospel music icon, Minister Danny Nettey, who died on Friday, July 15, will be laid to rest on September 3, his family has disclosed.
A statement signed by a member of the late musician’s family, John Jeffery Nettey, said the final funeral rites for the late musician will kick off on September 2 with a tribute gospel concert at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.
The funeral and memorial service will also be held at the forecourt of the State House on Saturday, September 3, 2016, followed by the burial at the Osu Cemetery in Accra. The final funeral rites will take place at the same venue after burial.
The statement further said, “The family of Minister Danny Nettey is sincerely touched by the outpouring of love, support and prayers since the sad and sudden departure of Danny.
“We are just so overwhelmed by the reaction, both locally and internationally, to our beloved Danny’s death and we are most grateful to everybody,” Dan Clottey, Danny’s uncle and spokesperson for the family, said in the statement.
He added that “one thing is clear that Danny was on a mission for His Maker who, in His wisdom, has called him home peacefully. In all things, we give thanks.’”
