The Ministry of Education has received a donation of 12,000 face masks and 800 pieces of 250ml hand sanitizers, costing Nineteen Thousand Euros from the De Lorenzo Company.
Presenting the donation, Andrew Kufuor, Country Representative for De Lorenzo Italy, manufacturers of technical and education equipment, noted that the company has had a twelve-year presence in Ghana and has been working with the Ministry of Education for some time.
Mr. Kufuor indicated that Italy has endured the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic and that De Lorenzo recognised the importance of these items to fight it, hence the donation.
Receiving the donation, the Minister for Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, on behalf of Management, thanked the company for their social responsibility gesture.
Dr. Prempeh stated that De Lorenzo has been one of the reliable partners of the Ministry through its technical and vocational education support and expressed the Ministry’s gratitude for their working partnership.
The Minister subsequently handed the items over to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa for onward distribution to the GES and its frontline workers.
