Isaac Dogboe, newly crowned WBO Super Bantamweight Champion, left the Accra International Conference Centre on Friday with the flagship Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Personality of Year Award.

The 23-year-old lifted the flag of Ghana high by winning two international titles- defeating Julian Aristo for the WBO International Super Bantamweight belt and Cesar Juarez for the vacant Interim WBO World Super Bantamweight title.

Nicknamed ‘Royal Storm,’ the 2012 Olympian shrugged off stiff competition from intelligent boxer, Duke Micah, to pick the Professional Boxer of the Year award.

Eight days ago, the sleek fighter became Ghana’s ninth World beater when he knocked out champion Jessie Magdaleno in Round 11 to win the WBO Super Bantamweight title.

Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, the Paramount Chief of Dormaa Traditional Area, was the special guest of honour at the 43rd edition of the SWAG Gala.
