Dr. Felix Kwaku Anyah (L)
Former Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and founder of the Holy Trinity Medical Centre, Dr. Felix Kwaku Anyah, has been awarded for his selfless service and patriotism to Ghana.
He received the award from the West Africa International Press Limited at Tulip Inn on Wednesday, August 28, in Accra.
He was among 14 awardees for the night, with the Director General of the Social Security and National Insurance Scheme (SSNIT), John Tenkorang, being one of them.
A citation read in Dr. Anyah’s honor, indicated that as Acting CEO of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, he waived his salary and allowances to the Hospital.
It described him as a great patriot, saying he has for decades been selfless in his service to the nation.
“Selfless service! Great patriot of Ghana,” an inscription on the plaque of the Pillars of Modern Ghana Award presented to Dr. Anyah, read.
Dr. Anyah told journalists on the sidelines of the 12th Pillars of Modern Ghana Conference and Awards that the Holy Trinity Medical Centre has over the last decades devoted itself to selfless services to humanity.
” For the past 40 years, we have cared for other people,” he stated.
“Korle Bu has trained me; the Ghana government has also invested in me. The best I can do is also to give back; to help the society,” Dr noted.
Earlier, on behalf of all the awardees, Dr. Anyah thanked the organisers of the awards.
