Efya
Female afro-beat artiste, Jane Awindor, aka Efya, has said she is hoping for the opportunity to have collaboration with an Indian artiste.
According to the Best in Me hitmaker, although she will like to collaborate with many international music legends, her focus now is to have collaboration with an Indian artiste.
“I want to make music with Indian artistes,” she said, adding that she likes Indian music.
Apart from Indian artistes, she said she would also want to do songs with Stevie Wonder, Daniel Caesar and Snow.
Efya, who was speaking in an interview with Citi FM in Accra, believed that collaborating with an Indian artiste would definitely promote her brand on both the local and international music market.
She hinted that she was going to embark on a lot of international collaborations because that is the way to get into the international music market.
Efya, the daughter of Nana Adwoa Awindor, a filmmaker and celebrity host of the late television show, Greetings from Abroad, recently released The One, which featured Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage.
She advised Ghanaian artistes to make songs with Nigerian artistes because they had a vibrant music industry and they had the numbers to push brands and maximize returns.
Efya got her first exposure to fame when she participated in the maiden edition of the Stars of the Future talent show organized by Charter House Production.
She won the Best Female Vocal Performance category at the Ghana Music Awards in four successions, beginning in 2011.
Her debut mix tape, TINT, was released on November 11, 2013. It consists of songs that were released between 2011 and 2013.
The mix tape was supported by two singles, Getaway and Best in Me.
She released her long-awaited debut studio album, Janesis, on April 22, 2016.
It was previously scheduled for release at different times between 2013 and 2015. On January 11, 2014, Efya released Forgetting Me as the album’s lead single.
