A multiple award-winning media practitioner and an accomplished entrepreneur, Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong, has been appointed as the General Manager for EIB English & Akan Cluster (Starr Fm, GHOne TV, Kasapa Fm and Agoo TV).

Nana Yaa, who has an impressive track record of successfully creating and growing numerous diverse brands brings along an outstanding over 24 years experience in the media and broadcasting industry.

With a deep understanding of the network’s goals and a proven ability to drive growth and innovation, EIB Network is confident that Nana will lead its English and Akan brands to new heights. “We are delighted to introduce, Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong, who will be taking on the role of General Manager for our English & Akan Cluster (Starr Fm, GHOne TV, Kasapa Fm and Agoo TV). After starting off her career as a TV Presenter with Fontomfrom TV in 1999, Nana Yaa was instrumental in the set up of all three Channels of Crystal TV Network (Crystal TV Prime, Crystal TV Plus, Crystal TV Xtra) in 2009 and worked with Crystal TV several years before and after.

In February 2011, Nana Yaa was approached by the Multimedia Group Ltd., to join it’s team as Channel Manager of three brands; Cine Afrik, the 4Kids Channel and the Jesus Channel where she won several awards for these brands. All three Channels eventually merged into Joy Prime Channel, which she set up and managed from March 2015 until October 2019.

Under her management, Joy Prime was amongst the Top 3 TV Stations in Ghana and fast became one of Africa’s most loved Television brands, reaching millions of homes across Africa.

Her Channels were nominated for several Awards and won over 14 Awards recognising the channels’ Brand Strength, Programs, Partnerships with key Events in Ghana.
Nana Yaa is also credited with the license acquisition, technical set up and content acquisition of several top media brands in Ghana.

Nana Yaa has mainly dedicated her life to contributing to shaping Ghana’s Media Landscape. Many of the significant gains made in Ghana’s media is as a result of her contributory work, to which she has been much celebrated for and the numerous notable awards and recognition.

In December 2019, Nana Yaa was awarded Media Personality of the Year by the Ghana Leadership Awards.

As Channel Manager for Joy Prime, Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong received the outstanding Channel Manager award at the C-BAZE Awards 2018, in recognition of her superior leadership and contribution to Media and Entertainment in Ghana.

In 2016, the Ghana Peace Awards awarded her for her extraordinary leadership achievements and contribution to Ghana’s Media landscape and towards Social Change.

In the same year, her immense Contribution to the lives of children was recognized and awarded at 2016’s Ghana Kids Choice Awards for her Outstanding Contribution to Kids Television and Entertainment.

NOTABLE FIRSTS
Nana Yaa’s career has enjoyed many firsts.

She created and managed Ghana’s 1st and 2nd Christian TV Channels as well as Ghana’s 1st and 2nd Children TV Channels, respectively. Nana Yaa discovered and led the execution of Ghana’s first 24hour Reality Show, I’m in Love With Bomaye which topped audience ratings and garnered the biggest following of a reality show in Ghana at the time.

In addition, From 2006 to 2007, Nana Yaa joined hands with the Kludjeson International Group to successfully lead, launch and manage Ghana’s first locally branded and assembled PC Brand in Ghana, as Project Manager of AKA Computers.

OTHER ROLES
Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong is also Country Director for the much touted organic fertilizer brand, Acres Agriculture.

She is a multiple award-winning Entrepreneur, Humanitarian and Marketing & Communications Practitioner. She is CEO of Elohay Group which has numerous investments and partnerships in Telecom, Logistics, Finance, FMCG, Agriculture, Real Estate, Health, amongst others.

She is also a Lecturer in International Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Leadership, a Women and Youth Empowerment Coach, a Writer, Social Impact and Africa Trade Facilitator and an ordained Minister of the Gospel at Eternal Life Church, Ghana & UK and is the founder of the NGOs, League of Extraordinary Women and League of Extraordinary Youth. She has rich, diverse achievements in successfully creating and growing brands.

As founder of the NGO, League of Extraordinary Women, Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong is Coach and Mentor to many women and young people in Ghana, Africa and across the globe. Nana consistently leads an incubation project that nurtures the youth and women through enriched development programs that offers insights on growing businesses, entrepreneurship and coping with life’s challenges.

Nana Yaa is a sought after International Keynote Speaker who has received several international and local recognition and Awards. Here are some notable recent Works and Awards.

In October 2023, Nana Yaa was honoured in London by the Zenith Global Awards.

In September 2023, the Faculty of Management Studies of the University of Professional Studies, Accra hosted Nana Yaa as Guest Speaker at it’s Annual Entrepreneurship Fair under the theme “Entrepreneurship and Innovation : the fulcrum of hope for sustainable jobs and wealth creation”. She is also a mentor and strategic consultant to the University’s SRC Team.

In June 2023, Nana featured as the only female Speaker at the African Investors Council’s Summit, hosted in Turkey in June 2023 where she spoke on the theme “the role of Trade in the economic empowerment of women”. She also facilitated the participation of women and top Ministers of Governments including Ghana, Zimbabwe and USA. She was recognised and presented with a plaque of honour by the Cerkeskoy Chamber of Commerce for her efforts.

In May 2023, Nana Yaa was a panel Speaker in Germany at the German – African Green Hydrogen Forum where she spoke on the topic “the inter-relationship of the economic activities of Women, the Youth and Start ups in Africa vis a vis the Green Hydrogen Economy”.

Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong is a well known Women Empowerment advocate and a regularly booked Mentor, Coach and Speaker in Dubai, UAE. She has spoken on numerous events organised by the Global Growthinity Network, Dubai and Philippines, as one of its committed Coaches and Catalysts. Some of the themes she’s spoken on include “Rewriting women’s narrative through leadership and technology”, “Internationalisation – growing your brand beyond borders”, amongst others.

Nana Yaa was also a Guest Speaker in Dubai for the March 2023 ‘She Awards Global’ & ‘Ladies in Business Magazine’ event and was presented with an award for her immense contribution to Women Empowerment and Business in Ghana.

In January 2023, Nana Yaa was honoured at the Africa Women Economic and Leadership Forum and Awards (AWELFA) held in Cameroon, where she spoke on the topic ‘Impact, Opportunities, and Strategies for Women in Entrepreneurship under the AfCFTA’. She also received an award for her contribution to women and business in Africa and won Female Entrepreneur of the Year.

Nana is a two-time winner of the prestigious Forty-Under40 Awards; She was presented with the Marketing & Communications Practitioner of the Year Award in 2022 and also received the Consultancy & Professional Service Award in 2020. Nana Yaa was in November 2022 honoured with the Top 100 Achiever Award by her alma mater, the Ghana Communication Technology University and Anhalt University, Germany. In 2021, she was honoured and awarded by the Humanitarian Awards Global for her humanitarian support and works.

Nana is also a regular Speaker at the Ignite Africa Conferences, Success Africa Conferences, and Convener of Monthly Women of Purpose meetings at East Legon, Accra amongst many others.

Nana Yaa also serves as a Minister of the Gospel at Eternal Life Church, Ghana & UK since 2020.

Nana Yaa serves on several Advisory & Management Boards including the Israel based World Peace Tracts, The Turkey based Africa Investors Council, The Global Growthinity Network based in Dubai and the Phillipines, the US based the 48 Hour Film Project, Empire Entertainment Ghana, The Methodist Church Ghana’s Wesleyan Television, Northern Innovation Lab, Humanitarian Awards Global, amongst others.

EDUCATION
Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong holds a joint MBA International Trade degree from Anhalt University, Germany and Ghana Communication Technology University, Ghana. She also holds an LLB Laws Degree from Mountcrest University, Ghana, a Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from CIM UK and a BSc. Business Administration Degree from the University of Ghana Business School. Nana is a proud product of Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School, Kumasi.
