THE EFFIA-KWESIMINTSIM MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY (EKMA) in the Western Region was able to generate revenue of GH¢20, 975,149.76 internally as at December 31, 2020.
This represented 79 per cent of the envisaged total revenue of GH¢26, 625,820.45.
According to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Kojo Acquah, out of the GH¢26, 625,829.42, the assembly disbursed GH¢14,072,210.7 of the proposed GH¢17,448,866.86 budgeted for its capital projects.
Speaking at the First Ordinary Meeting of the Second Session of the Assembly recently, the MCE said GH¢8, 666,887.72 was spent on financing infrastructural projects in the municipality, most of which were at the completion stages.
Mr. Acquah also revealed that the Physical Planning Department of the assembly had assisted Zoomlion Ghana Limited to site and construct a liquid and solid waste recovery facility at Asakae, in the municipality.
Additionally, he commented, “On the Digital Property Addressing System project, the assembly has received 10,000 plates from the office of the Vice President, and a contractor in charge of this project will soon be in the municipality to train field officers on the use of the software”.
