Esther Klagbordzor Wins 2 Awards

Ghanaian banker, Esther Klagbordzor, who was recently eulogised by Nollywood actress Chacha Eke for assisting her during her terrifying “manic episode,” has been honoured.

She won two awards including the Customer Hero & Spark Award at the 2023 FirstBank Annual Merit Awards (FAMA), organised by the First Bank Group.

The award ceremony, held on Saturday at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra, was to reward the best-performing staff of the bank. Similar ceremonies were held in the UK, Nigeria, Senegal, DR Congo, and Gambia among others.

Esther, who works at the FirstBank PLC Headquarters in Accra, made headlines in early June 2023 over an assistance she gave to Nollywood star actress Chacha Eke Faani.

According to Chacha Eke, during her manic episode, she obtained a fake ID card in a desperate attempt to run away from home.

She ran to a motor park in Asaba at 3am and subsequently travelled to Lagos. She wandered the streets, hotels, and beaches of Lagos for days. Eventually, she used the fake ID to travel to Ghana by boat.

Fortunately, she was able to regain her memory with the help of a staff member of the FirstBank PLC in Ghana who happens to be Esther Klagbordzor.

Esther recognised her and assisted her in remembering her true identity and home.

In an Instagram post on June 1, 2023, Chacha Eke described, “Esther was an Angel the universe used to open my eyes to the reality I disconnected from. I began to make my way back home. It took days but I returned, albeit sickly & in denial. One year later, I’m thankful to have survived one of my craziest episodes ever recorded.”
