Members of the MUSIGA Presidential Grand Ball Executive Board have paid a courtesy call on First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo to thank her for her continued support for the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF) and also discuss the upcoming Presidential Grand Ball, which is slated for March 29 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
This year’s Presidential Grand Ball coincides with President Akufo-Addo’s birthday which falls on March 29.
The discussions, therefore, covered raising funds with the ball to support AMWeF and also to mark the president’s birthday.
The first lady supported the ball with a donation.
The first lady also expressed her appreciation to the AMWeF board for the visit and indicated her commitment to supporting the fund to cater for the welfare of our veteran musicians.
On his part, MUSIGA President Obour expressed the union and AMWeF’s gratitude to the first lady for her support.
This year’s Presidential Grand Ball is under the theme: ‘The Role of Music In The Implementation of NACAP’.
This year, MUSIGA is embarking on a series of anti-corruption activities as part of a campaign to raise awareness about the effects of corruption and how to prevent it in the country, with support from STAR-Ghana.
