Expedite Action On Anti-LGBTQ Law – Parliament Told

Rt. Prosper Samuel Dzomeku, Moderator Global Evangelical Church

Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, Rt. Rev. Prosper Samuel Dzomeku, has called on Parliament to expedite action on the passage of the anti-LGBTQ bill formally known as the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill.

According to him, the proposed law will help keep the sanctity of the Ghanaian family unit, adding that it is prudent to curtail the activities of gays and lesbians.

Speaking at the 62nd General Conference of the Lord’s Pentecostal Church International at the Ashiaman Central branch, Rt. Rev. Dzomeku said that in God’s wisdom, a man is expected to marry a woman and reproduce, as enshrined in the Bible.

He added that sadly, the opposite is happening in today’s world, which is terribly immoral and abominable.

The man of God asserted that if LGBTQI+ activities continue, there would be no generation to take over the country’s issues very soon.

He noted, “It is an insult for a man to sleep with his fellow man, and the same applies to the opposite sex.”

“All Members of Parliament come from different religious backgrounds, and God forbids the act. Therefore, there should be no delay in passing the bill into law,” Rt. Rev. Dzomeku entreated.

The General Overseer of the Lord’s Pentecostal Church International, Apostle Eric Essandoh Anim Otoo, also called on the government to take immediate action to address the humanitarian crisis in Volta and Eastern Regions.

For him, the crisis was an avoidable one, pointing out that if the engineers at VRA had taken the time to monitor the rain pattern, the spillage would not have caused as much of a problem as witnessed.

He announced that the Lord’s Pentecostal Church International would join the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council to provide some relief items to the victims of the flood disaster.
