Fancy Gadam
Ahmed Mujahid Bello, known also as Fancy Gadam, has said he believes he deserves to be nominated in the artiste of the year award at the 2018 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA).
Fancy Gadam, who won the best new artiste of the year award at this year’s edition of the VGMA, said he stands a good chance of winning the award.
According to him, he has worked better than any other artiste and deserves to be awarded as the gospel artiste of the year.
The 24-year-old artiste, who sings in his native Dagbani, a bit of Hausa and Pidgin English, believes his hard work in the year under review has surpassed all and deserving of the reward.
In addition to the artiste of the year award, the dancehall artiste has appealed to his teeming fans in the north and across the country to vote massively for him to win the award.
“Looking at the effort I’ve put in this year, I strongly believe no artiste in Ghana has done that and I strongly believe I will win the artiste of the year award,” he stated in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, pointing out that becoming the best of the year is not beyond his reach.
He added, “I strongly believe that if a lot of people are following me, they’ll surely believe that Fancy deserves the artiste of the year because he is doing a great job.”
Fancy Gadam is thrilled he has released an album and also has more than 20 hit singles to his credit. He won several awards at the 2015 and 2016 Northern Entertainment Awards and was also crowned new artiste of the year at the 2016 Bass Awards dedicated to reggae and dancehall.
