A SHOCKING machete attack in Kwame Nkyi village, Adansi South District, Ashanti Region, has left 45-year-old farmer Jojo fighting for his life.
The alleged attacker, 43-year-old Kwame Abam, is believed to have been under the influence of marijuana when he launched the unprovoked assault on July 28, 2025.
According to Crime Ghana, witnesses claim Abam had smoked cannabis in a nearby bush before attacking Jojo, who was asleep outside his home.
Community members responded swiftly to Jojo’s cries for help, apprehending Abam and beating him before handing him over to the police. Both men sustained serious injuries; Jojo has been transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, while Abam is receiving treatment at New Edubiase Government Hospital under police guard.
Residents are outraged, citing Abam’s history of violent behavior, and are urging authorities to take stronger measures to combat drug abuse and prevent similar incidents. Police have taken control of the situation, assuring the public that investigations are underway to ensure justice is served.
