The late Akwasi Oppong Ababio
The Immediate past Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Sunyani Municipal Assembly in the Brong-Ahafo Region, Akwasi Oppong Ababio, has passed on.
Mr. Ababio died at the Sunyani Regional Hospital on Saturday, at about 9pm at the age of 62.
According to reports, he was in his private residence in the evening when he suddenly started complaining of a stomach upset, immediately fell on the ground and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
“He was watching television at his private residence this evening and all of the sudden, started complaining of stomach problem and he immediately fell on the ground. He was quickly rushed to the Sunyani Regional Hospital but unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival,” a source said.
The body has been deposited at the hospital pending autopsy to determine the actual cause of death.
The late Kwasi Oppong Ababio was also the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Sunyani East Constituency in the 2016 elections.
