President Nana Akufo-Addo
President Nana Akufo-Addo has urged South Korea to promote trade, investment, and innovation with African countries for their mutual benefit.
According to him, Africa’s enormous resources and youthful population, combined with South Korea’s technological advancements, offer unparalleled opportunities for economic collaboration.
“Together, we can foster trade, investment, and innovation for mutual benefit,” the President said while addressing the 2024 Korea-Africa Summit in Seoul.
He stated that the programme, which was held on the theme, ‘The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability, and Solidarity’, is a powerful call to action.
On sustainability, President Akufo-Addo said the global climate crisis demands urgent attention.
“By leveraging Korea’s leadership in green technology, we can transition to low-carbon economies and build climate-resilient infrastructure,” he noted.
In the area of solidarity, he said since the world is interconnected, the resilience of Africa and Korea depends on supporting each other.
“From addressing global health crises to promoting peace, security, and social justice, the partnership of Africa and Korea must champion democracy, human rights, and good governance.
“Let’s seize this moment to deepen our collaboration, strengthen our bonds, and build a brighter, more prosperous future for all. Together, we can create a legacy of progress and prosperity for generations to come,” he urged.
