Fuel Tanker Explodes, Bus Crash Traps Man on Highways

A fuel tanker explosion on the Nsawam-Accra highway today, February 14, resulted in the destruction of seven vehicles and left several others engulfed in flames on Teacher Mante near Okanta.

Eyewitnesses reported that the explosion set at least four additional vehicles ablaze, leaving them completely charred.

Fire crews promptly responded to the scene and managed to contain the blaze. While no official death toll has been confirmed, some reports suggest that three individuals may have lost their lives in the incident.

Authorities are yet to provide an official update regarding casualties or the full extent of the damage.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the tanker ignited following a collision with another vehicle, leading to the widespread destruction.

In a separate incident earlier in the day, a passenger bus collided with an abandoned truck on the Accra-Kumasi route at Hwereso.

Eyewitnesses reported that the bus, carrying multiple passengers, crashed into the stationary truck, resulting in one victim pleading for help from the wreckage.

Authorities are continuing to investigate both incidents as they assess the damage and determine the causes of these accidents.
