The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has started the fourth phase of Operation Halt II.
Operation Halt II is aimed at removing all persons and logistics involved in mining from water bodies.
A statement issued by Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, said “the new phase of the operation focuses on the Ankobra river and its tributaries.”
The statement added that “the operation is being undertaken by four hundred and one men of all ranks.”
