The award winners with President Akufo-Addo
The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) in collaboration with the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has celebrated several exporters at the 31st and 32nd President’s Awards for Export Achievement in Accra.
The event was aimed at recognising and honouring Ghanaian exporters who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and excellence in their respective sectors.
Held under the theme, “Recognising Excellence: Driving Sustainable Exports to Accelerate Ghana’s Prosperity,” CEO of GFZA, Michael Oquaye Jnr. emphasized the role that excellence in export practices plays in shaping the country’s economic growth trajectory.
He passionately stressed that achieving sustainable export development is vital for long-term economic prosperity.
Ambassador Oquaye expressed his pride and optimism as he acknowledged the remarkable efforts made by Ghanaian exporters across a wide range of industries, including agriculture, manufacturing, technology, and services.
He, therefore, highlighted their significant contributions, which have positioned Ghana as a global player renowned for delivering quality products and services.
He underscored the importance of sustainability in export practices, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach that incorporates environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and ethical business practices.
Mr. Oquaye Jnr. outlined the GFZA’s unwavering commitment to developing special economic zones that prioritised sustainability.
“We envisage that the new zones will have an energy mix gas, solar, and hydro, implement water recycling systems, foster sector clusters to promote circular economies, and construct eco-friendly buildings,” he added.
Guest of honour, President Akufo-Addo, commended Ghanaian exporters for their significant contribution to the country’s economy.
He emphasised the importance of supporting and patronizing locally made products to stimulate domestic production, reduce imports, and create more job opportunities for Ghanaian citizens, especially the youth.
The Chief Executive Officer of GEPA, Dr. Afua Asabea Asare, expressed her appreciation to the export community for their immense contribution to the growth of the economy.
Exporters were awarded in four categories including Silver, Gold, Platinum and Hall of Fame.
The CEO OF GEPA, presented some special Award which comprised: Most Diversified Exporter 2021 to HPW Fresh & Dry Limited, Best woman Exporter 2021 to Touch Skies Ghana Limited, Youth Exporter of the year 2021 to Wear Ghana, Youth Export of the year 2022 to AB Farms, Best.
B5 Plus Limited won exporter of the year for both 2021 and 2022 respectively, Azar Chemical Industries Limited and Lion Aluminium products Limited were honoured with prestigious hall of fame awards.
Mrs. Agnes Gifty Adjei Sam received a commendable 23 year long service award for her firm dedication to the success of the Ghana Export Promotion community.
