‘Germany Believes In Ghana’

GThe German Ambassador to Ghana, Christopher Retzlaff, says his country believes in the potential of Ghana to become the beacon of hope for Africa.

He said the African continent is key destination for the shift of industrialization from the west to the east in the 21st century and Germany sees Ghana as a leader in that effort.

He disclosed that the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in recent times is strengthening; adding that President Akufo-Addo has visited the European Union (EU) for four consecutive times since becoming the leader of the country to boost ties.

Speaking at a public lecture in Kumasi organized by the Student Parliament of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ambassador Retzlaff, said the German government is also investing massively in Ghana as a result of the faith his country has in the government and the people.

He called on African youth to learn hard to change the continent, which he said is now a key destination for investors.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor of KNUST, Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson, on her part, said the university looks forward to the establishment of the German Vauxhaul Assembly Plant in Ghana to build the human resource capacity in automobile.

According to her, the male-dominated automobile course run by the university has so far recorded 30 percent females.

She was optimistic the number would grow in the near future in line with the university’s quest to have a gender balance.
