‘Ghana Beverage Awards’ Launches 10th Anniversary

Dignataries proposing a toast at the launch

Ghana Beverage Awards (GBA), the most prestigious platform dedicated to celebrating excellence in the beverage industry, marked a major milestone with the launch of its 10th anniversary celebration in Accra.

The event, held recently in Accra, brought together industry leaders, regulators, partners and key stakeholders to commemorate a decade of honouring innovation, quality and leadership in the country’s dynamic beverage ecosystem.

Over the past ten years, the Ghana Beverage Awards has established itself as a transformative platform, spotlighting the best of the nation’s alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage brands, while recognising businesses and individuals whose work continues to drive industry growth.

The anniversary theme, “A Toast to Ten,” reflects not only the longevity of the initiative but also its evolution, impact and renewed vision for the future.

Chief Executive Officer of Global Media Alliance, Ernest Boateng, highlighted the remarkable progress the beverage industry has made and the pivotal role GBA has played in shaping it.

He recounted that the initiative was founded with a simple mission to recognise quality, uplift Ghanaian brands and promote internationally competitive standards.

“Over the past decade, this mission has taken root, contributing to the growth of Ghanaian beverage brands that now sit proudly on shelves across continents,” he said.

Looking to the future, Mr. Boateng noted that the next decade of growth must be anchored on sustainability and ESG-aligned practices.

He praised beverage companies already leading the way in eco-friendly packaging, water stewardship, responsible sourcing, women-led innovation and community investment, adding, “Sustainability is no longer an option; it is now a business imperative.”

The Chief Director of Global Media Alliance, Emma Wenani, described the GBA journey as one marked by excellence, innovation and creativity.

“Tonight marks a special milestone; a full decade celebrating excellence, creativity and innovation in Ghana’s beverage industry,” she said.

She noted that what began as a simple industry recognition platform has grown into a national celebration of beverage manufacturing excellence, sustainable practices, market expansion and overall industry development.

As part of the launch, organisers officially announced the opening of nominations for the 10th Ghana Beverage Awards, which will be crowned in 2026.

The nomination process was outlined to ensure a seamless experience for brands and individuals seeking industry recognition.

Chairman of the GBA Technical Committee, Professor Charles Tortoe, noted that the Awards were established to identify, celebrate and elevate industry players, and over the years, the vision has not only been achieved but greatly surpassed.
