Ghana Water Conducts Nationwide Revenue Mobilization Exercise

Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced plans to conduct a nationwide revenue mobilization exercise in order to retrieve all outstanding payments owed by customers.

The exercise will commence on Monday, November 20, 2023.

As part of the initiative, GWCL will deploy Disconnection teams and Task Forces to various regions and district offices to disconnect customers who have unpaid bills.

Prior to reconnection, disconnected customers will be required to settle their outstanding bills as well as pay reconnection fees. GWCL advises customers to make timely payments and clear their arrears to avoid any disconnection.

In addition to disconnecting defaulters, the teams will also be actively checking for illegal connections, self-reconnections, and the unauthorized use of boosters pumps at customer premises. Those found engaging in such activities will be arrested and prosecuted by the Police.

To prevent wrongful disconnections, customers who have paid their bills are advised to leave their payment receipts in their homes (premises) as evidence of payment.

Customers who have made electronic payments, such as through mobile money, must be able to provide SMS or electronic payment receipts as proof of payment.

GWCL offers multiple payment options for water bills, including payments at GWCL Offices and Revenue Collection Points, as well as through mobile money platforms such as Vodafone cash, MTN MOMO, AT Cash, Slydepay, Express Pay, and partnered banks nationwide.

Customers can also utilize the GWCL Customer App, which is available for download from the Google Play Store or App Store.

Management urges customers to cooperate with the teams during the exercise, as it plays a crucial role in improving the water supply service across the country.
