GJA President, Affail Monney
The Ghana Journalists’ Association (GJA) is rolling out a maiden housing project to enable its members own houses at subsidised prices.
Dubbed ‘Media Village,’ the houses will be situated at a location called Pampaso near Nsawam and they fall under various categories of a one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom.
A statement from the GJA President, Affail Monney, announcing the package, has demanded of journalists interested in the initiative to register at the secretariat with GH¢1000.
Dubbed the Media Village Project, the closing date for the registration is 31st January 2017. The GJA is entreating journalists across the country to avail themselves for the rare opportunity to, as it put it, ‘own one, two, or three bedroom houses in the Media Village at Pampaso, near Nsawam.’
Continuing the statement, he explained that ‘the prices will be highly subsidized under the GJA’s special welfare package for media workers.’
The project, according to available details, will be undertaken by KOANS Building Solutions, the Lead Sponsor for the 22nd GJA Awards.
The Best Journalist of the Year, Kwami Sefa Kayi of Peace FM will receive a three bedroom house as his prize, an unprecedented feat in the history of the GJA.
