GOIL SERVICE Stations in the Middle Belt Zone, comprising the Ashanti and parts of the Western North Region, has increased to a staggering 80 stations.
This follows the grand opening of the plush-looking Kumasi Ahodwo Roundabout Goil Service Station, which is the 80th Goil station in the Middle Belt Zone in the country.
Osei Kwame Prempeh, the MD of Goil, who graced the event, appealed to car owners and drivers to always patronize Goil products to help benefit pensioners.
“Buying from Goil is an investment into your future pension”, he said, disclosing that the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has shares in Goil.
Still wooing car owners and drivers to patronize Goil products, Kwame Prempeh said Goil belongs to Ghanaians and they (Goil) also sell quality products to customers.
“If you buy from Goil, the profit goes to the government and shareholders so the money stays here”, he stated, adding that Goil also employ over 500 young Ghanaians.
Kwame Prempeh also admonished Ghanaians to buy shares in Goil and benefit, disclosing, “I bought my first shares in Goil in 2007 and I have not regretted”.
The Kumasi Ahodwo Roundabout Goil Service Station is owned by Isaac Owusu, a prominent businessman, who also owns a chain of businesses.
Isaac Owusu, in his remarks, called for a national dialogue to stop the current trend whereby some workers indulge in weird acts to collapse same businesses that employ them.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, described the private sector as the engine for growth in the country, and called for support for the private sector.
He also sternly cautioned workers in the country to desist from indulging in thievery and other illegal acts to get rich overnight, stating that “there is no short cut in life”.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in a speech read on his behalf, lauded Isaac Owusu for working hard to create businesses and create jobs for the youth, urging him to sustain his good works.
