Brother Sammy
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) with the assistance of the Ashanti Regional Police has arrested agospelartiste over claims he has found a cure for HIV/AIDS.
The artist by name Brother Sammy, in a video recording circulating on social media, claimed to have found a cure for HIV/AIDSand other categories of diseases which has not been approved by the FDA.
“The arrest, follows a series of videos circulating on social media about the Gospel Artiste, a release signed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) DeleseDarko, said.
The statement further noted, “FDA wishes to inform the general public that it has not registered any product for the cure of HlV/AIDS neither has any approval been given to the Gospel Artiste for the production and sale of any FDA regulated product.”
The Authority thus advised the public not to patronize such products from the Artiste or any other person since such products have not been approved by the FDA and the claims cannot be substantiated.
“The general public is therefore advised to contact the FDA should you have any additional relevant Information on the Issue or any other FDA related issue,” the statement added.
The artiste is currently assisting the police with their investigations.
