Afua Asantewaa Aduonum
All is set for the first-ever Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA).
The award, which seeks to celebrate women who have impacted lives positively in their respective fields of endeavour, will be held later this year in Accra.
The president of GOWA, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, said, “All is set for the event. We live in a man’s world; everything is about men, so my team and l thought it is prudent to set a day aside to honour women who are making strides in their various fields of endeavours.”
“The awards seek to encourage women who are doing well to go the extra mile; l believe when women are productive, it affects every facet of society,” she added.
The award will be launched at a ceremony on Thursday at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Accra.
The launch event will be used to unveil categories and the process that will be used in selecting winners for the main award event.
It is anticipated to attract some respectable women in the society, as well as the inky fraternity.
